The rain has stopped here in Turangi and th eTongariro river is running at around 35cumxs and looking very fishy especially for the wet line. Pic above is of Simon who fished with Jason from Trout BeckĀ on Saturday as you can see Jason got him into fish. Very good reports from the Tongariro river on Saturday from two locals Ross And Murry who between them hooked over thirty fish on Saturday morning.
I have Just been talking to Jason from Trout Beck who has just been fishing in front of the lodge and picked up four fish in quick order with the colour in the rivers at the moment the glow bug is a very good option if nymphing and as I said the wet line is all so worth a cast or two. There are good numbers of fish in both the Tongariro river and the Tauranga/Taupo which make the prospects for the week aheadĀ very good with some very good conditioned fish to be had.
